  • Tour to Mati or Horse's Hoof Temple - cold and rainy there - way better than I expected - I expected a bust, but it was all these caves with buddhas and statues - with mountain scenery nearby
  • Went with Chinese couple from the hostel who spoke English and Joseph who was on a project to figure out how much land each product uses - Tibetan Caves with Bhuddas - 33 days (caves) to Heaven

  • Paid for private taxi to Rainbow Mountains as no one else planned to go, and this looked like my best chance weather wise while I was there - good I did ...

    ... on divine cake and bread (green tea one is yummy) and no it was not Marie Antoinette who said 'Let them eat cake', i have never been so excited to eat rice, broccoli and garlic IN MY LIFE!!! The restaurant street was such a sweet find!!!!

    The rest of the day was spent wandering around (not lost just not knowing exactly where we were) attempting to locate the wooden pagoda and giant buddha temple. Navigation must have been so much easier in the days ...

    ... stop, but alas NO. What was happening was after so very analytical observation I deduced that as soon as we hit 80k she switched off the engine so we coasted along the very straight but very LEVEL road until a near stop and then she would switch on the engine again. This was the most bizarre and somewhat frustrating journey and would have made anyone suffering with car sickness as sick as a dog (again another very odd analogy)?!
