... a side road. The road disappeared at one corner and revealed a massive valley before us along with a twisting road that snaked downward. And what did we see in the valley? More f*ing olive trees. There’s really no way to explain how many olive trees there are. Hopefully the pictures do some justice.

As we were ripping up the road at about 130kph, between massive fields of ______, (c’mon, guess), two birds lifted ...
Jódar, Andalusia, Spain kochwebb... and some had never heard American English. The one bilingual teacher, Curro, told us that he can only understand the American English of George W. Bush because he speaks very slowly but he does not understand anything Britney Spears says...what a representation of our dialect haha. Finally we went to Miken´s school....she also is in a preschool and elemntary school but in Jaen. The kids that attend my school for high school, went to hers when they were younger. They had auxiliares from ...
Jaen, Spain manningra... back down to Granada, spend one night in a Hostel, and then catch an overnight train to Barcelona, where we plan to spent a good bit of time. By the way... sorry about the lack of photos lately... we've still been taking quite a few pictures, the problem is that... well the problem is that I don't feel like going through the whole process of transfering them, picking out the good ones, re-sizing and then uploading them. Maybe tomorrow :-)
Ubeda, Spain fritzandjennyCraziness in Cazorla While we were in Ubeda we took a couple day trips (since there really isn't that much to do in Ubeda.) One of our trips was to a national park really close to the town of Cazorla. Getting to the park involves a lot coordination with the public transit system, and we soon realized that we'd have to spend a night in the park to make it work ...
Cazorla, Spain fritzandjenny... to practice and we've even learned a couple of good idioms and a few dirty words, which is always handy. They manage to work a tiny lesson into almost every topic we discuss, without disrupting the flow of conversation. Since there is not a whole lot to "see and do" in Ubeda, we've also had some extra free time to lounge out on their gorgeous patio and improve our tans. We've also taken some day trips outside of Ubeda. More to come soon...
Ubeda, Spain fritzandjenny... Paco, just enjoy. Well okay then. Yum yum yum, pig blood. All in all it was a wonderful night. We got a little burnt out trying to follow the conversation, but all in all we are very content. Sunday night we had a cultural experience of a different sort. The Euro Cup is in full swing right now, and on Sunday night Spain played against Italy. It was a big game because the winner would go on to the semi finals, and the loser is out of the running ...
Ubeda, Spain fritzandjenny... or from Laura herself. But the time difference, and technical difficulties kept us from the computer and Laura was somewhere on a road-trip, out of cellphone range. It would have to wait for another day. We decided we needed a drink to cheer us up and went in search of El Gallo Rojo. Luckily, the owner of our hostel knew exactly where it was and directed us 3 blocks down the street. SWEET! "Dos cervesas grandes, por favor ...
Ubeda, Andalusia, Spain fritzandjenny... to milk one cow in 5 minutes with 4 teets at once. Quite impressive but then he had been doing it for some 35 years. Our attempt was not surprisingly, pathetic, judging by Estalins reaction and the meagre amount of milk we had collected in one hour in the blue bucket. When I was asked to go and get some water from the stream I couldnt even manage this. Apparentely Estalin had said to go to the second stream with fresh water but due to not reading the `good level ...
Baeza, Ecuador cathandnick... across the table. Beer went flying up in the air and much to my embarrassment, so did I. I had a complete melt down. It had been a long week for all of us. I´m just not used to being around children, and at that moment I would have paid a million dollars for a vasectomy. The shame of all this is, that Henry´s a great kid. He behaved as well as any two year old could be asked to. I´ve had a lot of time to reflect on my outburst and I wonder if I´m ...
Granada, Spain natecropp... NY, and the angel in brazil...after being hassled into paying a 1 dollar entry fee before even getting there by a lady in no more than a borrowed "tourist police" shirt, we paid the real entry fee to climb to the top for a view of the city...nice view, but kind of anti-climatic, so we returned to the hostel via the taxi, which now after a few "repairs" was running on a back tire with a few missing lug nuts...i think having all 4 lugnuts on your wheel is only a ...
