Had a good trip yesterday, the majority of it was on the A75 which is dual carriageway, unfortunately using local roads would have taken far too long. The road was fairly quiet but as the altitude increased so did the thickness of fog which we were in for about 30 miles then we were back in brilliant sunshine. Looking out of the van window now the sunshine is about to continue today.

The rain last night came down in stair rods, we had music playing almost at full volume and could just hear it, it finally stopped at about 2am and what a relief. This morning is bright and clear and the sun is beginning to caress the mountain tops above the city and dry things out. We walked the narrow cobblestone lanes, hemmed in by formidable ramparts. Human spirit was confined quite literally. We had intended to go out in the evening for tapas but the weight of travel and history (and our good lunch) depleted our resolve and we faded out early in Girona!

Our short stay in Figueres started with a morning in the Salvador Dali Museum. The Museum, designed by Dali, comprised many of his sculptures, paintings and installations, all arranged and displayed to his specifications. It is a very entertaining, thought provoking and sometimes crazy collection of his life's work.
