      It's was our first visit to Chinatown in Singapore. Although we weren't sure whether we would like the place in the beginning, our experience today proved otherwise. There were so many things to see & touch, so many food to taste/eat, so many different sounds to hear and last but not the least, so many scents to smell! The architecture of Chinatown is also similar to the streets in Hong Kong!

      ... kangaroo. Just before take off Sue jumped into an empty seat which meant that we both had spares beside us but we were not sitting together. This means that our holiday time together is now 9 weeks minus 8 hours. We managed to get some sleep on the 7.5 hour flight to Singapore, and were in transit there just long enough for the plane to fuel up and for us to send texts and FB since we had wifi.       ... the plus side we did have a decent banana leaf curry meal and we were done with Johor by lunchtime on Monday to make our trip to Singapore, perhaps a little hastily... Leaving Johor Bhuru (Malaysia) for Singapore was a relatively easy task. We hopped on a bus that took us to the border, alighted, went through security and re boarded the bus until the next check point. Here we exited the bus, got stamped and then taken in to the city.
