We decided to dine in Skiathos town last night. Firstly to check that the ATM worked (it did) and to see what the town had to offer. Well. Clearly aimed at the tourist with a bit of spare cash. Lots of little boutique shops with Parisenne price tags. We did not succumb to the retail urge to purchase stuff just because it was there. ... hour drive we had. Check in does not take long especially if you are a repeater, since all details are kept safe in the computer. We did arrive 40 minutes earlier though and I have to admit I was sure that the room would not be ready due to high season, but we covered that time at the Spa filling the doctor's requested questions and arranging our Spa treatment appointments.

... little village of Chaeronea, about 80kms east of Delphi. This is the scene of the battle in which Philip II of Macedon defeated Thebes and Athens in 338 BC, essentially ending Greek independence.
