    Thursday 28th August 2014

We woke up to no condensation this morning, a first for quite a long time. We expect this in September but not August so it shows how cold the nights have been getting. We are still very cosy with just our summer duvet on but normally we would have just the duvet cover!

We went to the Haven Meister to hand in our gate fob and bought some charts. Isi asked about the WiFi because of ...

We dropped my bag at her house and then we took her bike and went to the waterfront for a drink. One weird thing I learned is that, when you ride a bike here, to brake, up just pedal backwards, there are rarely hand brakes. I found it quite disorientating. And also, I'm tiny compared to these Dutch girls, so hardly any of the bikes are low enough for me to touch ...

... white and blue pottery called "Delftware"

Our hotel was very well located, right on the old canal just behind the Oude kerk (old church) and just a minute away from the market square. We were right in the middle of where all the action was. We decided to have a look at the old church first, as it was the closest from our hotel.

    The Old church
You could recognize this wonder from a mile away. The church had a distinctive clock tower leaning ...
