Our second wild camp went without any problems. It is still raining this morning! We set off on our long drive to Serbia. It's motorway most of the way, straight, flat and wet. At our coffee stop we set up the net book to use the navigation system, as satnav cannot find the place we are heading for. We decide to call this navigation system Doris, unlike satnav, who we are sure is German, as she shouts commands at us, Doris seems to gently guide us along the route. After lunch we ...
After a skype call with Philip, mum, Lilly and Claire this morning I was picked up by Peter around 9am. Straight out to the parents to see the pig taken off the spit. This had been cooking since 4am. I had to have a photo taken with Rad's dad and the pig before it was taken off the spit rod. All the family were there again to share the pig with us. We have so much and they make do with so little. They have a lovely home, very small, two small bedrooms off a living area. The have a stove inside but mum does most of the cooking in summer outside in the shed, where she has another stove. They have little ...
... some German, some English, some a mixture, but a good night and nice food. Thursday morning we were up at 5am to drive to Frankfurt to catch our flight to Zagreb, Croatia and then drive 2 hours to Derventa, Bosnia to Rad's parents. A very interesting drive. The war here was 19 years ago but the damage is still very evident with damaged homes, some beyond repair. Obvious bullet holes in the walls, plaster broken away from ...
