Party Time!

... streets and some clear and sane mind, we found a camping site to park our RV in spend a night....

I found Zaragoza very quiet town. It's got a big cathedral and a square in front of it, statue of Goya and few other nice things.

But at night it's completely different. Lots of people on the streets, bars start filling at 7 p.m. and are full until 3 a.m. So, for us it was - Party time!!!
I had a Mary Moment

... once again, and was too lazy to cook any eggs, so breakfast was a few slices of serrano, cheese, and some yogurt. Seemed kind of odd eating this, without anything to accompany it. Back to the same bar for a cafe con leche, where I first stopped upon arriving in San Sebastian the other day.

Chatted again with the bartender, and also some random guy from Pamplona. I left a note with the bartender with all my contact info, for his daughter that ...

FRYING EGGS ON THE SIDEWALK IN Zaragoza, Spain

... the way for Canada, there is a squiggly over the n.

The GPS won’t accept the address I had for a campground so when we get to Zaragoza so we decide to go into the town. We see 4 spires, it is either a church or a mosque, I think the first. Lucky choice of turn-offs as we end up right at the Church.

We find a parking spot and walk back across the river to look at the beautiful church ...

Hot Night

Boring long day on the A23, highest col 1223m.

Looking for aire in Zaragoza when Brits James, Clare and Katie in their motorhome took us under their wing to the park they'd already stayed in. Left over from 2008 water based expo, with typically spanish rusty iron "sculpture".

35 degree C until light shower cooled us all off.

Bren washed her hair in the public drinking fountain, starting a trend with the other family.

Our Travels so Far

... get Mauritania visas a lot more difficult, the forms were all in French so had to try work out what it said, every other nationality had there info on there passport in English and French but good old New Zealand have Maori so had no idea, after an hour we all filled them out and Gary went to embassy and we were to pick them up next day at 3pm, so he jumped in the taxi the next day to go collect the 28 passports and they wouldn't open the gates so he was told to come again on ...

It all begins here in Mañaland

... whatever but apart from the occasional ******** (who is always out) no one is getting bevvie up looking to do someone over just because they brushed past them in a bar or they have got too much sauce on their kebab, i may seem as though i am exaggerating but i am telling you, live 3 years in London and then Madrid and then tell me that i am wrong. Onward we go

We said goodbye to our wonderful host Sylvia in Guadalahara. The morning light and warmth felt like late May back home. We took to the A2/E90 heading NE towards Zaragoza. One hour later we turned off the highway to visit an old Roman fort on the top of a mountain with a spectacular view, Mendinacellini. Structures ...

Pillars and Pubs

... New World). Anyway I went inside and wandered around, it was a truly magnificent cathedral, well, from what I know of cathedrals anyway, and that's not a great deal. I felt the neon lights saying "Silencio" were slightly out of place personally, but still. Only a small portion of the pillar is visible, as it is encased in marble. A queue of elderly Spanish people moved towards the visible section one at a time, each kissing their hand before placing it on ...

... in the Pyrenees. It is beautiful here - we're completely surrounded by mountains and the views are fantastic. We haven't done much - just been relaxing and getting used to things. It feels very strange to be doing so little after the last few weeks which have been so busy and stressful. We keep thinking we should be doing something! I think we are all getting used to living in the caravan now - the awning really helps and also with ...

Zaragoza - Not As French As I Thought It Would Be

... been removed. Oh well, its still worth a visit for the student price of 1 Euro. Special thanks to the Egyptian Government once more for that Student Card. Off again, passed the Plaza de Toros, where Bullfights are held in the warmer months. Up Paseo Independencia, through the back streets and the various Tapas Bars. Nice little town. Didn´t exactly rock my world completely, but not all destinations can be drop dead gorgeous. Or French for that matter. Moving on.....
