          Phuket seems a montage of people living in an unassuming little island that is a tapestry of cultures and sights. Here there is more resorts than you can imagine. Fascinating that visitors want to see Thai culture but like Western accommodation. There is certainly a choice of places to stay.           ... 15 minutes a tuk tuk with 3 Scandinavian ladies in it, pulled up on the other side of the road, with the driver beckoning to us! The traffic just weaved around it as we risked life and limb running across the busy highway to catch it. Another 120 Baht and we were back at the shop that rented the bike to us, showed the photographs of where it was and caught a tuk tuk to the hardware store. So much for our saving on ...

          ... in the few hours we had before the shuttle bus returned to the hotel. We located another store and bought a stash of pringles, other crisps and some chocolate plus some essentials such as tooth paste (weirdly turned out to be salt rather than mint flavour - yuk!), soap and a bottle of Gin (yes, that is a Christmas essential!).

          ... Saturday, Brett's Birthday, went to Café del Mar to watch Bledisloe Cup with a few Singha Beers then off to Phuket Town markets (open every weekend till midnight) for some more shopping.
          Sunday, pick up at 11am from Merlin Beach Resort for the Airport. Return via Kuala Lumpur.
          Arrived Monday morning around 6.30am in Sydney to cold, wind and pouring rain...

          ... diving for fish and then spent a few hours on a beach. It was an incredible day! On our last day we braved the busy streets on rented scooters and cruised the island, gambling if Rob and Rob would make it up some of the hills!
