Arrived in Dubai 1pm Arab time had a great flight 18hrs on the plane came out into 40 degree heat - bit of a shock. Found cab easily, thanks to Kim's advice cost us 42 dirhum about $15. Arrived at Dar es Salaam airport to a chaotic immigration queue, but somehow got our visas in quick time, then had the usual taxi mayhem – one price for locals and a much higher price for foreigners. Negotiated a lower price, joined the melee on the only city bound road and took an hour to travel 12 kms to our salubrious (not) accommodation. At least it was central, cleanish and had wifi. What more could we need? ...
... d stepped inside to ask for directions to the mall. Once we were in there, as there wasn't a single customer in sight, we felt we should eat there. Also, we were starving and how could we say no to proper British fish and chips! The mall was huge. We were so excited to see that it had H&M, Mango and Accessorise among other great shops. The afternoon was spent trying on lots of clothes (even though I knew I didn't have enough money to but anything after a very expensive fish ...

Today we went to the Jumeirah beach and park which is very very nice the beach and the gardens are amazing and all we can say is we've never been in the sea that is like a heated swimming pool water so warm but refreshing from the sun :-D.

before falling asleep after 500, then up before they closed the kitchen
