... in high esteem by all who live and work in Dubai.

We visited the Dubai Museum, took the obligatory ride across the Dubai Creek in an Abra to the Gold and Spice Souk area for look. Helen and I had covered this area on our first day there, which was good because with the tour group it was a quick trip and a short time to wander around. Some of us bought some nice jewellery!

It is quite obvious that the staunch Muslim emaratis love the western lifestyle, this is shown by the sale of alcohol in their state, the mass consumption of American and European made cars and also the endless amount of high end retail shops selling extremely provocative women's clothing like t-shirts and above the knee shorts!!! Eventually we walked back to where we were in the first place. The Indian cargo boats are truly amazing. The quay was piled high with goods in cardboard boxes and the wooden ships looked as if they weren't sea-worthy enough to go in a bath tub. Eventually found the gold souk and the spice souk just around the corner from our ...

... was already way too hot!
We walked through a little of the mall, saw the aquarium and had lunch at Johnny Rocket's at Tanika's suggestion. The kids enjoyed the 50's diner atmosphere and food.
After lunch we thought we'd see what the train system was like in Dubai, so we caught the train home. Asoka picked us up from the station - too hot to walk!
Carol had booked us a safari tour, we ...
