My longest blog in ths trip so far
This is the longest blog so far in this trip, cause a lot of time spent on trains
Took JR, train and train again to get to Fuji train station, total of about 2 something hours.
I have to make a comment, the worst washroom I went to China was still better than the one in Fuji train station :(
I forgot to chk the weather for Fuji, the weather at the Mt is 10 degree lower than the station. It was cold in the station, probably mid teens ...
Trains, Cable Cars and Pirate Ships!
... tourists ( not being a fan of hard boiled eggs we both gave them a miss). Everywhere you looked there were plumes of smoke coming out of the ground and beside the cable car station was a great gash in the landscape full of steam where there had been a bad landslide and they were trying to stabilise it (or at least that’s what we thought the sign said - a Chinese girl on the cable car had told us it was a copper mine - so I’m not 100% sure). Tokyo to Izu Oshima
... is the island, is the world's third most active volcano after Stromboli and Kilauea (allegedly), though on the plane over we read an article which claimed a volcano in Indonesia was the second most active. How do you define such things?

The Elusive Mt Fuji
... the mountains where our hotel is. The hotel was built in the late 1800’s and from the pictures on the walls it’s where royalty used to stay when they visited the area. Whilst its full of character its also very expensive - one cup of coffee in the coffee shop is £8.50 (we found a slightly cheaper alternative down the street)!
Unfortunately there seem to be no little local restaurants in the town so we have just been to ...
Japan moto trip (Izu Skyline)
... I drew up in OSRM with the help of Gaijin Riders forum members. But no matter, I happened upon the bus station in the centre of town and they sent me round the corner to the tourist info place, where a couple of little old ladies lined me up with a Y4500 guesthouse.
I learned a valuable lesson for touring Japan out of this. Always head to the town’s transport hub and you’ll find someone nearby who can direct you to accommodation. Every town ...
