... As we returned to the campground, we passed a strange set of what could only be described a "spectator stands" on the side of the lake. After hanging out for a few minutes, we realized that these were, in fact, "stands" for rowing races. Turns out the lake is the base for the Slovenian national rowing team (winners at the last three Olympics) and a popular place for international ...

... to purchase tickets to get into the Gorge, but it was well worth it! The entire trail is either very well-maintained boardwalks or maintained trails, taking you deep into the gorge for picturesque, clear, pristine river/stream and its equally as stunning sheer walls and cliffs!

NOTE: Visitors ...

We also visit the Museum and church. It is also very old and a serene space. Lots of rocks and without trying to seem sacrilegious or anything, we barely look at the the rocks anymore, we have seen so many. I found the nicest part of the museum was the courtyard in the centre and the beautiful vista from ...

... legs were aching pretty bad.

It was 7:30pm by this point so we had about an hour before the sun would set, and two hours until the last bus back to Ljubljana. We didn’t know how high up or how far the observation point was, and wondered if we should just leave it…but no! Despite being so tired, I was determined to take a photo of the lake from the view point – it was the main reason I had come to Slovenia in the first ...
