... a perfect fall afternoon with crisp air and very warm sun balanced with cold pints and a great view of the Adriatic Sea.

A stop over at the market for supplies prefaced a return to our hotel for a brief rest before walking north to meet Mia’s folks. We walked north conversing across a gender divide before returned on the other side of the street, the guys walking ahead and the women window shopping, to our hotel.

... weak headlights on our car and the lack of road lighting had Eli constantly flicking the high beams on and off. We drove past many signs for hotels and pansiyons but in the spirit of getting there, refused to turn around. This meant that we eventually drove all the way down the coast to the town of Pula.

We found a hostel downtown but the reception was closed. This was one of those times that it would have been nice to have a cell phone ...

... the water. Parking here in Croatia is like a puzzle... if you can squeeze your car in between others, you are golden. I think they must teach amazing geometry in school, as well as metaphysics when I see some of the parking that is done. Never mind parallel parking, all the rage in Split is perpendicular parking. I am soooo trying it! ...

... mall - the Korzo. I grabbed some takeaway Croatian meat pie in flaky pastry which was ok and Mum had seafood at a nice restaurant ( I wasn't very hungry and just wanted a snack) Probably ate too much junk on the bus trip. There were many cool out door bars but we had to search hard to find anywhere that served food...very strange !!
