So we drive down to Croatia. We thought it would be a great idea to wear our bikins as we drive so we get tanned... brilliant plan... that was until we got to the border and thought, whoops. Luckliy there was a car in front and we quickly put clothes on. In my haste I put my dress on back to front and inside out.... The guy then asked if we had anything to declare and was in hysterics when we laughed and said only 3 beers ...

Cette journée nous a ouvert l'appétit : dîner dans une "spaghetteria" sur le port accompagné d'un succulent vin blanc et retour à la chambre pour une bonne nuit.

... le tout dans une charmante maison avec jardin tenue par un couple de retraité italo-croate, à 5 minutes du centre.

En septembre, le soleil se couche à 20h. Difficile pour nous car en France, c'est plutôt 21h. Tanpis, nous savourons notre 1er bain dans la mer un peu fraîche!

La journée a été longue, nous rentrons "chez nous" pour un petit pique-nique improvisé et une bonne nuit.

... nous pensons pouvoir récupérer la ligne de bus Rijeka-Cres. Notre surprise est aussi grande que notre déception quand nous découvrons cette minuscule gare au milieu de nulle part. On se croirait revenu 50 ans en arrière, le contraste est total (mention particulière au chef de gare derière son bureau et sa liasse de papier, parlant un anglais impeccable)! I jumped the bus in Pula, and headed off for Rijeka, just a hop, skip, and jump. When I left, I saw a roadsign saying 100km to Rijeka. But, this bus went everywhere but straight. ... updates now of our whereabouts. From what I saw today, I feel that we will be uploading quite a few photos over the next week. The area where we are staying is very nice - better than I thought it would be. There are many tourists. I have seen cars from Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Romania, Austria, Sweden, Italy, etc. We are now staying on our balcony, enjoying the warm evening and having a great view.
