The plan was to stay in Satungo and catch the train to Valencia which was 25km further south. On arrival in Satungo we were not overly impressed but we sought out the tourist information in order to find a place to park. The tourist office told us there was nowhere to park except in a camp ground 7km away which we then would not be able to get transport to Valencia. So we headed onwards through Valencia and to the south where we thought we could find a place to ...
Javea, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands darrenhough746 weeks left here in benidorm before a flying visit back home to see everyone then im off to Thailand, Oz and Fiji for a few months travelling.
Currently loving the 'dorm, its probably the most random and bizzare place to rep and although its a bit quiet at the moment having amazing nights out with the rest of the fantastic team we have here, still time to come and see me!!!
... to jagged rocks, slippery mud and cliff faces accented with a million seagulls (and their droppings...). We persevered up the majority of the trail until we got to a point where we were using ropes for balance as we went up steeper rock faces. Now I wouldn't call this a challenging hike, perhaps a bit technical but in flip flops it was HELL! We finally called it ...
Benidorm, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands sofenjon... fun fares, open-air cinemas on the beach, late night ice-creams and many night time swims. You really have to become nocturnal - but it's quite magical. Of course we've managed to fit in a few bbqs a birthday party or two, one that was a catered for Paella party, and check out the cake photos - 6 birthday cakes and the kids got to choose which one that wanted to spoon out of, (isn't that a childs dream?!)
The incident this summer ...
... usual and fell asleep in a wierd location (motorway traffic Island) as usual. Then, as usual, whilst going to the toilet a big animal started rustling around in a bush next to me. I nonchalently threw a massive rock in there to freak it out.
Then we soundly fell asleep to the sound of heavy traffic a few meters away.
We spent most of the day relaxing on the beach recovering from the epic cycle. I thought i would be clever and insulate a cold bottle of coke by burying it. Well it does keep the coke a little colder but that is not really too important if you can´t find it. Me and Alex then spent an hour washing our clothes playing shirt ...
Gandia, Valencia, Spain chris_jones01...

... it was at the people running or the crazy kiwi tourists infront of them!
Once the run was finished they let one bull at a time into the arena, where about 100 guys (in their 20s & 30s) waited in the middle to be amateur matadors. After chasing round people for a while, the bull would either jump into the sea to be rescued by the waiting boat, or if after 10 min no jumping would be led out by an old steer.
The first bull flipped one guy ...
We've enjoyed the few days between Christmas and New Year just 'chilling out' and enjoying our new environment. The children have been without their own toys for a number of months, and so having their own things to play with, s almost a novelty, and to be honest, they're not really keen to go anywhere at the moment ... we are all relishing the space, and the chance to stay in one place for a period of time without the ...
