... proved too time consuming and difficult to make it worthwhile. The hotel had buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as fancy meals in the hotels Italian restaurant. We had a view of two pools and the ocean from our room, with one pool even having a waterslide. Being far away from everything, we basically just chilled in the hotel spending our remaining currency on room service and expensive meals.

While we were relaxing in the pool, as we ...

... the gigantic shopping chain Yodobashi Camera for some browsing/shopping. Ironically, Yodobashi seems to sell everything but cameras (disclaimer: we didn’t SEE any cameras) selling everything else from microscopes to camping equipment. The store was spread out over 5 floors, with the most interest being on the hobby floor which sold electric pianos, Lego and anime related paraphernalia. The electronics floor had two 4k TV’s on display which shattered ...

Fine day. 27 Degrees. We awoke this morning just before 7am and headed off to breakfast in the dining room. By the time breakfast was finished the ship had docked in Okinawa. After breakfast we took the 15 minute walk into the city and caught the monorail to Shuri Castle. The castle is not very exciting as it has all been remodeled except for the outside wall, so looks very artificial. We did the walk through the rooms of the castle but they are all empty, ...

      Okinawa – Fleeing a typhoon

We'd heard rumblings of the oncoming typhoon but it wasn’t until we stepped out of our hotel that felt it coming down on us. It wasn’t overly windy, but the rain was steady.  I could tell this wasn’t going to be the most enjoyable day of flying. We met the rest of the group at the train station, hurried to our platform, and then promptly waited 45 minutes before our train could ...
