        ... so excited about, I decided to head north: Akita in the Tohoku region. If you paid some attention to the map on this weblog, you probably already noticed that I had not visited any place north of Tokyo. That 'gap' is now filled by my visit of last weekend. I could get a very affordable price for a great hotel with onsen, which compensated for the not-so-affordable 2 x 4 hour train ride.
