Made a short stop in Bebai just outside of Saporro so Thom could have a few private moments with the plane, but not before the gaggle of reporters and photographers waiting for us to land got their interviews. We left the Onsen in the morning and went back to Kakunodate to visit the Samurai houses. At the station you can always leave the baggage in coin lockers, so we could make the walk through the town in a more relaxed way.

Unfortunately it was pouring rain that we became wet - even with the umbrellas and were happy to get inside these samurai houses. They are very big, some of them even free of charge to visit
