... the cave ended in a mud pool waterfalls and hot-springs so in we went!! dan was staright on the mud slide and once he slid down expecting to sink to the bottem he floated it was amazing we were floating in mud!!! it was ace!

... the afternoon for a mud bath and to go in the hot springs. we went really far into the caves about 15-20 minute walk bit scary but it was good! the mud stunk but we just covered ourselves in it. and the hot springs were lovely. good for phils bad back!

The city itself and where we are staying is also very quaint, although it is very much adapting to the backpacker clientel and even as we sat eating breakfast while we waited for our rooms we were approached by numerous people trying to sell postcards and watches and even paper siloettes of you that they cut then and there. ... heb het gevoel dat we na 2 maanden alleen nog het topje van de ijsberg hebben gezien. Omdat je niet goed met hun kan communiceren krijg je toch weinig mee van hoe ze echt zijn. Maar mijn indrukken zijn dat Chinezen toch niet veel anders zijn dan ik had verwacht: familie, vrienden en een succesvolle cariere lijken centraal te staan. Niet heel wereldvreemd dus!

... so spent our last yuen on biscuits and cakes (no water at all, obviously). We bought fake Oreos, which were foul so ended up handing them out to locals sat near us.

The last ever sleeper train was fairly uneventful; no giant poo, no snoring, no delays. We did give Ricky his I Heart China top though, which he wore the next couple days. I have never seen someone so happy to leave a country/ hate that country so much.
