... but now we were able to see much more as Eric was now on his own feet. It was really fascinating and the old harbor absolutely beautiful with the green and turquoise colored water. The ride back had me holding on for dear life, as the cliffs down were on my side of the car. The roads are narrow and extremely winding. But we made it ...

... It really is a must see. Check out the pictures and video for more on this. There are plenty of tourist market stalls around but pleasingly no hard sell and a polite no is enough. Smoking I think has not been banned here and I really noticed it but not enough to spoil my wandering. I took a tour train for just 6 euro again around the old town and there really are some wonderful parks and statues and such. When I was here before, the menus were only in Greek and a trip to the kitchen to look at what was on the menu was often suggested. Now, menus are in many languages and the servers are often quite fluent in a variety of languages. No guesswork required.

You Haven't Been to Rhodes Unless You Go to Lindos

... Once again, the small streets and lanes are full of tourist shops and restaurants. The merchants here are not in need of sales as the prices are much higher than in Rhodes Town. Overlooking Lindos is an Acropolis. We follow the crowds up and up until we get to the entrance. Then is it many more steps until we are at the top of the site, with amazing views over the town and the sea.
