      Had only 1 night and 1 day in Shangri-la. Which was too short to really explore the area. There is zero charm in the city. But the surrounding area was just like Colorado. Dry air, high elevation, pine trees, and mountains. It felt like home. And the sun cooked my face. Bring a hat. Sunscreen might help too incase you have forgotten what the sun can do at 10,000 ft.

      ... On the way back we found “tastes of Lhasa”, a typical Tibetan restaurant. Heating here is done by fires places, also in this restaurant. After we had chosen some dishes we enjoyed our tea and the warmed ourselves at the fire place. The food we got served tasted delicious and stuffed we went back to the hostel. The headache is getting stronger so time to get some medicine and a good rest! Early risers we were! And the best thing, the altitude sickness is gone! ...
