      ... the winter. It is too cold here to grow many vegetables so most of the fresh fruit and vegetables are transported in from either Lijiang or Kumning.       ... is full of ice cubes. Margaret and SG jointly throw the water over him and he reacts as you would expect. We are hoping that it may start a similar wave of support in China. And that could mean very significant numbers....

      *Margaret has arranged a meal in an old Tibetan house that has been converted into a bar/ restaurant. It is a great choice and the food really very delicious. It helps that both of us are very happy to eat spicy food.

      ... initial architectural awe, as with all Chinese temples, wears off pretty fast. The highlight was seeing a several pictures of the Dali Lama in one of the temple buildings, as well as finding cannabis indica growing all over the place. Guess that's why it's called Shangrila...

      If I had a few more days there I would have liked to have a nice mountain bike and gone exploring all around the neighboring foothills. One day is just too short for all the time in transit.
