We had thought about going to Cumberland Island this afternoon, but with a threat of rain hanging over, we got a slow start and decided to check out the Submarine Museum here in St. Marys. We spent the day with our new found friends! Glenn and Marilyn joined us on drive across the bay. Thanksgiving Day
... thru Florida and offered suggestions for camping etc, turns out they will eventually go to the Keys. They were parked in the overflow part of the camp as a full site was not available yet. Well....Thanksgiving Day when we got back from church guess who was parked next to us. He spent most of his day getting set up and as we were getting ready to have our meal I noticed he was digging out his little BBQ. ...
Finally Florida! Happy Thanksgiving!
Well we made it to Florida arriving on Monday! We have been in search of sun and warm temperatures. We sort of have that....it has been upper 60's low 70's since we have been here. At least no rain and plenty of sunshine. We are really loving this location for sure. We are right on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the St Johns River at Pelican Roost RV park. ...
Three more nights on the road
... the Atchafalaya River basin today - an 18.2 mile bridge! There was a lot of traffic on I-10 since MadiGras was going on in New Orleans.
One more night on the road. Tonight we will stay at Falling Waters SP in Chipley, FL. Finally a good night's sleep. Peaceful place, and still convientent to the interstate.
