Jacksonville, Georgia is a standard working city (without much to see) where most people commute in and out to work. If they can afford it most people live in the beach communities along the coast or in small country towns nearby, such as St Mary"s - a US Naval Base 20 minutes away. ... a place where we could get to the beach and Molly could go with us. We then drove into St. Augustine, where we had visited on our last trip here. After checking out the lighthouse, we headed back to the campground.

Today is the day! Jonathan, Keith, Charlie and I are heading to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Jonathan and I did some grocery shopping last night and all I have to say is we are set in the snack department. Dropping Baxter off at Pet Paradise this morning was, as usual, a little sad. ... the Atchafalaya River basin today - an 18.2 mile bridge! There was a lot of traffic on I-10 since MadiGras was going on in New Orleans.

One more night on the road. Tonight we will stay at Falling Waters SP in Chipley, FL. Finally a good night's sleep. Peaceful place, and still convientent to the interstate.
