Beizhen is a small city about an hour from Go Bang Zi in Liaoning Province in the North East of China.
Had a fun day with Ned and Carre. There are quite a few interesting things to see and do in Beizhen. I don't think there has ever been a foreigner in Beizhen.

At an internet cafe again trying to upload my photos. This can only mean one thing: I have a lot of time on my hands again, and not much to do today. I'm in Yangshuo now, just south of the infamous Guilin (the place that features a lot in scenic images you see of China, with the Li River and limestone karsts). From Guilin we had planned a 4 hour cruise down the Li river to Yangshuo. We were hoping for a ...

Jeannie here. We are thrilled to be out of the huge cities for a few days in Yangshuo. It is very beautiful here with the amazing karst formations all around us, and the town is not exactly what I'd call bustling. All in all, this is the kind of place we can relax a little and maybe see some of the daily life. We have been taking walks along the river, and Sean has been trying ...

Yangshuo

... obscure time so it yuan well spent. The trip was a bit scary as although Guilin is a big city and Yangshuo although relatively small, is quite an established tourist town but the roads in between were very dodgy. There is no lighting and we don't just mean street lights, you couldn't see any lane markings and there were no reflectors anywhere. To add further to the difficulty rating, the buses and trucks seemed to love blinding us with high beams, whilst we often had ...
