Arrived in nanwan beach at new accomodation - quaint quirky little b&b a little like a tree house . This part a little touristy - umbrellas on beach, hawkers , jet skis - catamarans - etc . ... then spit out red stuff, it's actually kind of gross! The nut has the same addictive qualities as tobacco and is very popular here. You can always tell when someone has been eating it as their mouth is all red! They even have "Betel nut Girls", they always try to have pretty girls selling it to make it more attractive to the consumer. ... recycling and the environment. Driving through the mountains and bush reminded me of NZ at times, except that there were so many tropical plants. We had a thunderstorm most afternoons, but they were over within 20 mins or so, so no real problem.

I totally recommend a visit, and would love to go back again myself, as I've only seen a very small part of the country.
