... in the latter 2, people will say hello to you in the street and just start talking with you. Noumea in New Caledonia was a struggle because I don't speak French and it seemed people were unwilling to speak English. However, at the very least the weather was gorgeous and you could walk around and sit outside with ease. Being in Harbin I have never felt so far away from home (or anywhere!) and I am really happy to be back with my host family on familiar territory.

I am not in a state of writing much since I just spent 139rmb and spent 2.5 hours of my life on my first ever Public Bath. Washing my naked self in the eyes of other naked ...

... structures, all made from large ice blocks and sculptures made from solid ice, with lights inserted within the ice, lit up in an array of colours, like a fairyland. The temperature was -27 degrees.....we had prepared ourselves with all the possible clothes one could put on.....

The traffic was so bad coming ...
