... in Chinese) - the woman giving the information for the rest of us kept it very short. The river is not as spectacular as some other rivers we have travelled along (fjords in Norway and Katherine River in the Northern Territory as examples) but when we look at what has been done to create the river size, it is incredible. The river has been backed up for over 600 kms and had its level raised around 130 m. That's a heck of a lot of ...

Not a lot to say about Wuhan really. Another big city in China - home to about 5 million. It's on the Yangtze and its a BIG river here. Must be at least one km across, maybe more. Lots of river traffic. And quite a few BIG bridges. The Chinese certainly know how to build bridges. The Yellow Crane Park, and the Yellow Crane tower, is probably the main ...

... The locals often don't know what street they are in let alone the street you want. And can they read a map? No way. Since I have been here it has rained off and on - more on than off. Rainy season. Its not heavy but wet all the same. And it's hot so the humidity is high making it all a little uncomfortable. Hopefully it clears and I can see the city ( another one with 4-5 million people) before its time to head further ...
