The bright lights of Hong Kong
... the atmosphere. We have a busy day tomorrow with all the sight seeing to do during the day and hopefully some dim sum and tea throughout as well! So we wondered around the streets, which are buzzing with young professionals out for drinks, and went back to the hotel. We skyped both Seemas parents and mine and had a nice little chat and catch up which was nice, and then just washed and got ready for a big day ahead of us tomorrow!! Lights out ! ...

... place to live if you had a bit of cash. My opinion of Hong Kong however, didn't start off so rosy. Our flight from Shanghai was delayed meaning that we arrived at our hotel in the early hours. Unbeknown to us at the time of booking, Kyoto Guesthouse was essentially situated in a giant block of flats. The entrance wasn't a marble clad foyer but rather a simple lift door inside a dodgy indoor market. It was a dump! The place looked like a haven for gangs, pimps and ladies ...

... big hotel, just for rubbing. I find the situation a bit surreal, never sure where to look, also I am quite ticklish so have to refrain from twitching/kicking. At one point a man came in with a head torch and a selection of sharp tools, luckily just to smooth the feet. Overall really relaxing and the ideal thing to do before sleep.

... we had a go of the double decker, rock n' roll trams as we killed a bit of time waiting for the cloud to lift before going up the peak. The queue for the tram stretched back for a couple of hours but it was worth it when we finally made it up there, with a spectacular view over Hong Kong island and Kowloon. ... soon tucked up back in the Closet, and decided to call it a day, as it had again been a pretty nonstop day of moving. The Buddha was an awesome recommendation which I would definitely pass onto anyone coming here, there are plenty of walks around Lantau as well for those who wish. Tomorrow I think we’re going to try and head over to another of the outlying islands, this time Lamma, which has again be recommended to us. Only a few days left ...
