We are staying in a nice, allbeit, Austrian styled as this part of Slovenia has a heavy Austrian influence, right across ...

... which was attractively lit by sunlight. The towns we drove through were thoroughly and sometimes spectacularly scarred by the ubiquitous Ugly Communist Housing Blocks that we had become so used to. Did the communist authorities have no sense of aesthetic appreciation? Did they have no sense? It may have made for uniform and available housing, but it didn't do much for the beautification of the urban landscape, nor for the ennoblement of the human soul. Mind you, sixties' town ...
