    I got the map out, put Sally on so I knew my heading, needed to be heading South.

    So we're now on route to Ljubljana capital of Slovenia. Our 4th Capital city this trip and 8th country crossed. We're 6 miles short of 1500miles into our trip and it's been amazing so far.     ... we had succeeded in that, most definitely. But we had also met a nation rising from its past traumas and forging a place for itself in modern Europe. There is still a generational difference, I think: the older generation can remain cagey, and reluctant to give too much away.
