... more than half his food, we didn't feel too bad in doing likewise. We were sorry to miss seeing the heritage house, RK said it was rather special. Another 3 hours in the car, and we arrived at our hotel, The Black Thunder Theme Park. Well I hope Paramount are going to make a better job of their theme park in Murcia! ... before dinner precluded the need for booze at dinner. Laughing at group members and some forgotten more serious topics filled the time.

Lucas got the hotel to drop the buffet price [maybe on threat of going elsewhere]. Went vegetarian. The hot and sour soup tasted different than home and could not figure out whether hotter or more sour. It was nevertheless good. Sampled a Manchurian dish and some fish curry along with the pappadom [however spelled]. Tried many galub ...

Well it was really difficult to leave Wynberg, but we were excited about moving on and seeing more of India if Wayanad was anything to go by. We had been 'reliably' informed that the bus bound for Ooty left Sulthan Batheri at 10.30 or 11.30 or maybe 12 only to discover once we were at the bus station that the bus actually left at 1.30 or 2 or maybe as late as 3. So we loaded up with cups of hot chai and unidentified deep fried crispy snacks ...

... nicely by 3 glasses of delicious red wine by the fireside. In the savoy. In Ooty. Yup....the savoy.

The rest of our time in Ooty was spent visiting the nearby national park, hoping to see a tiger. We were disappointed, though our "charming" guide tried to make this up to us by showing us his personal collection of photos of different animals urinating. Nice.
