Kotor, Serbia and Montenegro matti5d... way up above the town of Kotor.

Drazen warned that “only if you are in good condition” should you attempt this climb. We decided to give it a try – we could always walk back down if things got too tough. Well the first half wasn’t too bad. We scrambled up a path that was basically stone steps to the incredibly lofty positioned Church of our Lady of Remedy. The church was built by those who survived the ...

Only taxi drivers really know the latest and greatest.

I finally did find that one needle in the haystack, and a guy about my age actually walked me four blocks to where the bus was hidden down a side street. Albanian culture is all about helping visitors I came to find out later and that is such a welcome change from back home. Can you imagine some luggage toting, non English speaking foreigner walking up to ...
Kotor, Serbia and Montenegro atlpilot36... again. Listening to the 80s classics, well into my second pint now everything is peaceful and I am hoping to go white water rafting in the mountains tomorrow. Not sure whether I am happy to be travelling solo again I have realised that this trip is very much different to the one I had a little under two years ago in Centro America. Yes the setting is quite different but most surprisingly I think I have changed a lot since than, how so I’m still trying to figure out. Stay tuned.
Kotor, Serbia and Montenegro bradskey69... might. It was beautiful though and makes me want to go to Norway some day.

The little towns dotting the bay sparkled in the sun as we drove around and everywhere people were swimming. There are two little islands in the Bay of Kotor with an interesting story. One is natural, and the other was formed when, as legend goes, fisherman saw a glowing light in the water which they felt was an angel protecting them. They dropped a ...
Kotor, Montenegro claraz8... whatever they wanted in Budva if they had the correct amount of money with them. Montenegro was to me akin to a luxurious playground for the ultra rich, famous as well as infamous. We then walked back via way of the tunnel, stopped at a small outdoor restaurant all ordering a type of delicious pancake we enjoyed by dipping it in chocolate syrup and drove back to the hotel to get some rest. The next day Darko took merely us to another gorgeous beach. It was reminiscent of Greece ...

I would have liked more time to stroll about the town, but in truth it was so freezing cold that we tended to race around to get out of the arctic blasts as quickly as we could. One way back we took a car ferry that cut about 60 kilometres off the return journey, meaning we didn't need to travel around ...
Kotor, Serbia and Montenegro guykb... was still a bit bumpy on the way down, we still got to see some sights, including another small forest fire, more farm animals, real wild dogs (I think Tammy missed those since she was napping). So after more switchbacks and all, we were back in Niksic and QUICKLY changed buses to one that was headed to Kotor. Kotor was a brief stop for us, but on the way there, we passed Budva, which is basically the summer hot spot for all ...

After our exercise for the day, we had some internet time and met up with some aussie blokes and a story-telling Kiwi by the name of Robbie. Had a few beers, then dinner and drinks with them after getting out of our drenched clothes. Robbie had an amazing story about being locked up for a night in a Belgrade cell simply for not carrying a copy of his passport or the address of his ...
Kotor, Serbia and Montenegro tcorrea... and the fortifications above, we decided that Kotor had more to it than meets the eye and were satisfied to stay for the night! Lunch was great too! We continued to wander in and out of the old lanes and eventually came upon the entrance to the old city walls. We followed them as far as they could go when all of a sudden a finger appeared out of window followed by a voice. We headed in the general direction of the finger and found a set of ruined steps. We started to climb and ...
