... is open to tours so we just admired it from afar.

Before meeting up with Yoko for lunch, we walked around Yoyogi park and burned some time. The park itself was closed for mosquito problems, but the shrine nearby was open so we wandered around that. Yoko took us to an udon restaurant and we enjoyed that, then we visited Shibuya ...

So - we arrived in Tokyo a few days ago, just a shame our baggage didn't arrive with us! At least I got used to being a smelly, hippy traveller pretty quickly eh!

So far we have been to Ueno Park - big peony garden, mental lotus ponds, seen some Buddha's (who gave us a good luck fortune) and saw a temple dedicated to a woman that used to snatch and eat children until someone hid hers and so she stopped eating and snatching children and ...

Sometimes you can stand in one spot and see three different vending options, always so far with whatever I've wanted in stock and cold. Though they do lie about the lemons, if you check the photos below. Noticeably cooler today-warm, rather than boiling-it was a great walk back, 25degrees, soaking up the city and checking the map for wc locations. Grand. Reading: Eoin Colfer, ...

If our second day in Tokyo was dedicated to exploring Japanese pop culture, then our third day was all about exploring the new and the old of Tokyo. We decided to go on a walking tour of a neighbourhood a couple subway stops from our hotel. The neighbourhood is affectionately known as Kitchen Town, owing to the dozens and dozens of pottery and kitchenware stores lining the streets. This area is well known among restaurant owners in Tokyo for supplying them with all plates, ...
