... our train car. We had sleeper cars, thank goodness, but they were definitely not like American sleeper cars! The whole section of the train was filled with bunk beds stacked three high, with a narrow hallway on the one side. We all had beds by each other, so we switched around how we wanted. The workers were very friendly and when Chelsea and I were sitting on the bottom bunk across from Mah a lady came and gestured profusely at me while smiling and talking to Mah. She ...

Wednesday again started with breakfast and Tai Chi. It began raining, so we went into a tennis court to continue practicing. We learned all 24 steps, which was pretty amazing, since I was awful to begin. I am still no master, but I am definitely better now.

... went up to the fifth floor of one of the buildings to a place they call the “Book Bar” to learn classic Chinese calligraphy. After working so hard at Tai Chi and then being told to be peaceful while working on calligraphy, many of us were getting tired. We all enjoyed the calligraphy though, it was nice to work at something we were a little more familiar with. While practicing calligraphy, Professor Zeng served us all a special tea, which was ...

... travel to the airport. The subway ride was about 45 minutes with a switch of trains in the middle.

Once we arrived at the airport we all hurriedly tried to find the correct area to check in our luggage. I put my luggage through the scanner and the lady at the counter said I had to go to a different room to open my luggage for a security guard. Unsure of what was wrong, this made me very nervous, especially since my bag wasn’t over the weight limit. Turns out the ...
