We were invited out with some of the staff on Tuesday night to Laowi Town to a quiz night which was good fun. We then met Silvie, the CP at Munchner Biergarten, the German bar on Wednesday and the Italian restaurant Thursday evenings.

I bought a whole bunch of “Flower teas;” some of them are actually quite gross-tasting but they’re really spectacular to look at. They are tied tightly into 2cm balls but once emerged in hot water the ball unfolds and different flowers pop out. I don’t know how they’re made but it looks like intricate ...

We left early on Wednesday morning to head for Zhoushan Island (舟山岛). Before heading to the hotel, we went to Mount Putuo (普陀山). Mount Putuo is considered to be the home of Guanyin (a form of Buddha) and is one of the four sacred mountains in Chinese Buddhism. We were able to walk around and see ...
