    Beautiful Bodrum

    ... the marina and daydreaming about owning a sailboat. We also watched the sunset each night at the beach, ate yummy kabob and made sure to feed the stray cats as much as we could. Bodrum is very beautiful, quiet and just a really nice place to visit if you want to relax.     ... can avoid paying taxes!!

    Grey skies and about 19 degrees today, so not cold. I would say at least half the shops and restaurants are closed up for winter, and probably hotels too. We are the last guests at this hotel.
    I can't imagine how crowded it would be here in summer! It's sort of nice like this - not having to fight the crowds. We've been lucky like that!

    ... we passed through some mountains and got closer to the coast the towns became more prosperous with huge resorts at the entrance to Bodrum which is a big tourist town. It's pretty empty at the moment and we are the only people at the small boutique hotel where we are staying.

    The temperature is about 18 degrees and it looks stormy tonight!

    ... especially if you are a foreigner....stupid Americans lol. The Catamaran is a fast ferry to Kos with the ride taking only 20 min. Did you know that it's quite a difficult process for citizens of Turkey to visit the islands, but not so for Americans? Even going through customs upon arrival in Kos is much easier for Americans.
