After my Saturday School classes I went out with Ross and some of his Westerner friends to McDonald's Bar, an expat hangout in the city (conveniently situated beside everyone's favourite fast food chain.) At one point a saw something scamper across the floor in the corner of my eye. I swung my head towards the movement, everyone else oblivious. It was a rat!

... didn't realise they were such noisy, dramatic affairs. The bride even sang some opera and there was some sort of deafening drama performance which is quite normal apparently. I learnt girls in China get married quite young, the average age might be about 21 or 22 and weddings are also a big thing - all about the spectacle! I practised using my chopsticks but how Candy was using them to unpeel the prawns I have no idea. I used my fingers when she wasn't looking.
