Our guide was very knowledgeable and opinionated so we learned a lot of his version of history, the political situation and about life in the Philippines. Thankfully my mom had Pocket Earth all fired up and managed to get us there (though to be fair we did get some excellently timed directions from some fellow Anglophones). At this point we had now traveled for half a day on a plane, were staring jet lag in its cold dark eyes, and had ...

... it was through the mall around behind. It would have been very hard to find had they not pointed us the right way. We checked in, rested for about 15 minutes, then headed out for dinner. This part of Beijing Road is a pedestrian street, all decorated with lights and red paper lanterns. We were very tired, so we didn't spend too much time searching for a restaurant. We had a good meal then got back to the hotel about 10:00 ...
