Didn't do much today, we got picked up by one of Jen's cousins and went to the Nanning Zoo. Well what a disappointment, the big cats were in small in closures rill of mud and no green rass at all, it was discussing. The ones that were not in there they were in concrete cages and nothing like their environment. All in all it was a great disappointment that the would treat these animals like this. She could put on different accents and was very sarcastic, although she had never been out of Asia. Night train was an experience - 13 hours in a 4 berth train with 2 border stops. The Chinese border was very militarily run, with armed guards and very little smiling, but the Vietnamese one was far more laid ...

    A tttttiny little mishap

A travel blog entry by julieserroul on Apr 10, 2014

Our 28 hour overnight train to Nanning deserves recognition as it is one of the most memorable parts of China for us. This sleeper train consisted of numerous 'berths' which was a three tier bunkbed, row after row after row. We were on the top bunks and it was so cramped that you couldn’t even sit up so you had the option of laying down or laying down. There were two seats available at the end of the bunk beds, which ...
