... subway trip back to the hostel we went out for our first meal of Peking Duck, just another delicious offering this city has to give. The chefs slice it up right there in front of you and your left with with juicy, fatty and crispy goodness.

Tomorrow evening we leave Beijing and make our first overnight train journey to a small walled city called Pingyao before heading on to home of the Terracotta Warriors - Xian.

... Wasn't it though.

8:38am: Actually see the 38 bus. I climb on board the crowded vehicle and swipe my metro card against the scanner near the entrance. At .40 kuai a ride, it costs literally pennies to use the bus system. I continue flipping through my flashcards as I brace against the bus's lurches and sudden stops.

8:40am: Nearly tumble into a short but stout old lady as the bus makes a particularly bold maneuver. "Duibuqi!" I exclaim. Sorry! ...

... finally made it to school (the Beijing Yucai School, 北京育才学 ;校), all the students met with their Chinese host siblings and families.
There was then a small opening ceremony where people gave speeches and stuff. All the staff was introduced to the kids (including me).
