I have never felt safer than I do in China. At times, the excess of attention makes me feel annoyed or anxious, but in general I feel supremely safe from both violence and unwanted sexual attention. Sometimes I feel so safe from sexual attention that I miss being flirted with, smiled at, or acknowledged as something other than my boyfriend's girlfriend or a foreigner.

Recently though due to all the building going on the government has bought the villagers' land and most of them have now moved to live in apartments in the city. The stairs will get the better of me today if I have to keep going up and down them all day to find a toilet. I was supposed to go to Suitangcheng Botanical Gardens but will have to put that on hold. Alex and David came back again and didn't have much luck as Alex's tool was ...

... sea shells half way up the gorge, they think the area was once mostly under water. You can see where the water flowed by the shape of the gorge, and there are many caves visible although not accessible. The rocks look very unstable and there are signs were large slabs of rock have fallen. At the other side of the gorge, there is a small monastery built into the side of the mountain.

At the entrance to the gorge, there is another ...
