... massive cloud with impressive lightning forks and the loudest rumbles of thunder I have heard in a long, long time. 1703 - we are sat waiting for clearance to takeoff now. The rain has stopped and I think there are two planes queuing ahead of us. The woman next to me hasn't stopped talking on her phone. Any normal smartphone would've run out of batteries by now but, sadly, she has a Nokia with enviable battery life. Hope we move soon but priority ...

The train from the airport was prompt, comfortable, quiet, fast and only stopped a couple of times before we arrived on Hong Kong Island. This is almost a complete 180 from what we have come to expect from travelling in Asia. Admittedly, the train from the airport to the ...

Our last day in Asia. Having been on the move, we are pretty good at packing. So no mad frantic last minute rush to pack. We now have luxury of 50kg per suitcase instead of 20kg. On our last night we ate at Spring Deer. A really old school Hong Kong restaurant. The waiters are all over 60 and dressed in tuxedos. Everyone warned me that you needed reservations, but we managed to get a table. We were pretty early for Hong Kong 7:30. The roast duck was excellent and we ...

Even though we crashed early last night, we started slowly this morning. However we decided to go back to the Stanley Market that we toured in 1985. It is located on the south side of Hong Kong Island so is quite a long trip as the MTR does not go there, only busses. The first leg of our journey was on the old and famous Star Ferry from Kowloon across the harbour ...
