The villagers were performing a welcome ceremony for two bus loads of tourists, one with people from the Netherlands, and the other group from Sweden. The welcome ceremony included many of the people from the village who sang and danced. The people in this village are known as long skirt Miao.     ... was greeted by three women in local dress who sang and gave me rice wine out of an ox horn. School was out for lunch break so many kids ran over to watch and say hi.     ... from a fellow passenger on the bus, enquired about Xijiang. Turns out there are frequent buses and it’s only an hour or so trip (and only 13 yuan for a ticket!!) So on the spot, I made a decision (yeah that’s right, I’ve managed to do physical exercise AND make a spot decision in the matter of a week or so…yeah, I’ve changed man)
