... man sogar das Pool benützen!

Jeder in Neuseeland darf beliebig fischen.

Pahia, New Zealand bindannmalweg... really good. We were all rather worn out after such an exciting and strenuous day so watched another film before bed. 16th April 2009 We had most of the day in Paihia today as we were not departing on the bus until 3pm, but had to check out the room at 10am which was a pain. This meant we couldn't do very much as we didn't have a room to change in so we decided to stay around the hostel and watch films, taking a short walk in the afternoon before the bus departed ...
Paihia, North Island, New Zealand dlz... We did our 'train for Spain' hike up to the highest peak of the town and then down the other side to a beach which is supposed to be the best swimming beach. Although very nice the sand is a fairly dark gold/brown so it didn't look as stunning as many of the other beaches we'd seen. It just started to rain as we set off to look at another bay so we ducked into a little 'casual' bar/restaurant which wasn't our best choice ...
Paihia, North Island, New Zealand maxnstan... girl!
The water was a little bit choppy on the rib on the way out to the dive site, but when we got there the site was perfect even if the viz wasn't 20 metres! The wreck came into sight as we descended the shot line, appearing eerily out of the gloom. The pics speak for themselves :)
Paihia, North Island, New Zealand lesandsteve... was taking bookings on her cell phone during our journey! And it was nice the way she talked about her boat too. You could tell she really loved the boat and her job. The weather unfortunately was not perfect. It was a bit overcast, and later we had some rain. But we did get to see dolphins! They were gorgeous to watch swimming around the boat. At first I stayed in the front of the boat. My stomach was not happy with me ...
Paihia, North Island, New Zealand andreat... Paul napped and I took a walk to the far end where there was a rocky outcrop. There were locals collecting mussels and oysters along the base of the rocks, and lots of shells to look at. As was usual in the afternoons, the clouds rolled in and overtook the sun, so we decided it was time to head out. We slowly wound our way back for Pahia, making a detour to Kerikeri on the way. There was an old Stone House along the waterfront there that ...
Paihia, North Island, New Zealand rgreenwell630... known to be quite a busy whaling and sealing port. as a matter of fact, many of the ships that sailed into Russell had initially come from New Bedford and Nantucket. could that explain where Russell gets its magnetism? I decided that it indeed it was, and treated myself to a *superb* grilled lamb pita pocket sandwich and ate it at a waterfront table overlooking the harbor. I put my feet up, relished in the much-awaited sunshine, and called my ...
Paihia, North Island, New Zealand katelin... I don't know if I'd like bran with chocolate milk. Then we sat arrounf for a while before cleaning the dishes and going to brush our teeth and wash our faces. I used the internet, which costs 6$ an hour here to send out some more e-mails. Around 12 we headed over to the Hotel were the gran folks are staying. We packed ourselves a lunch of peanut butter & cheese sandwhiches and some apples. Then we walk down to the ...
Paihia, North Island, New Zealand minijexterAfter little sleep we went and explored the Waitangi Treaty House and found out all about the treaty signed between Maori tribes in New Zealand and settlers from Britain, which 'allowed' the Maori's certain rights and guarantees, for example to possess their own land! Apparently many of these have never been upheld anyway. So can't say I enjoyed being ...
Kaikohe, New Zealand, New Zealand paulandnic... nz/ We were anchored out in the bay and saw the most amazing sunset, the sun looked like it was shining up from the Earth, it was stunning, then there was a shooting compitition, but I was too busy watching the sunset to take part, then we began fishing for Red Snapper for a dinner, I waited for ages and was one of the last in but alas I caught nothing, not even a nibble! So after our bbq dinner it was out on to the Pacific for some night ...
