After about 5 hours of walking we decided to negotiate the timetable at an italian bus stop and I got us a bus with a stop two blocks from where we are staying at the Mercure. Tonight I think we might find our way back to the little pizza restaurant in the old city. There is a pizza on the menu that has octopus. ... every column is built of stone, mortar to exact specifications, it is completely covered and there are exactly 666 arches from the city gates to the basilica front doors. Head preacher: 'sorry, did you say 666, mate, you don't reckon you could have squeezed another one in or at least dropped one out! 666 - we are going to have to leave that bit put of the awards submission. Breakfast at the hotel and a visit to the battistero and the cathedral. Found a deli and bought up big - parma ham, parma cheese, balsamic, Lambrusco and olive oil. Lunch out at La Forchetta - just below our room window! Highlight was the Aubergine parmagiana with smoked cheese. Beautiful old town... Now enjoying the local produce at home with a bottle of ...

... at 1700 and checked into our 15th century very authentic Italian villa. Dinner was at ristorante angiol d'or right near the villa. We all ate traditional beef fillet steak rolled with Parma ham and Parmesan cheese! Late night for Sienna - we will get back into a routine soon. Still trying to figure out if I'm in the home of Parma cheese as well as Parma ham... Need to do some more ...

... go and find The WAG who was down at the library. Not so fast, he wasn't wearing a shirt but he was wearing shorts and his slippers, not a great look and certainly not one to try and explain in a public place. And even if he did go, what's to say she would still be there?
