What lovely conversations we had with Jack and Nancy. I loved hearing about their adventures out in the wilderness. They, too, also have a love for hiking and being out in the wild. I laughed when they told the story of how they got lost while canoeing in the Everglades. They talked about how beautiful and wild Glacier National Park was. After a hearty American breakfast, Bruce & MJ took us on a trip to the north end of the island to the Barnegat lighthouse. It is no longer in operation but still very much an icon of "The Shore"..

Pretty quiet afternoon - most of Bruce & Mary Jrelatives were still here after the wedding yesterday so met them all and we just basically sat around - pretty cold outside today so it was a nice interlude.

Great BBQ dinner and nice wine to finish off the day. ...

Drove on the outskirts of Philadelphia - parts of that city look just great so hopefully we will go there on our way from New York to Washington in a couple of weeks with Alan, Chrissie & Robbie.

Arrived at Bruce & Mary Jane's house just after 1.00pm and it was fantastic to see them. The Jersey Shore is a very pretty part of the world and another summer house vacation area ...
