After a hearty American breakfast, Bruce & MJ took us on a trip to the north end of the island to the Barnegat lighthouse. It is no longer in operation but still very much an icon of "The Shore"..

Pretty quiet afternoon - most of Bruce & Mary Jrelatives were still here after the wedding yesterday so met them all and we just basically sat around - pretty cold outside today so it was a nice interlude.

Great BBQ dinner and nice wine to finish off the day. ...

Drove on the outskirts of Philadelphia - parts of that city look just great so hopefully we will go there on our way from New York to Washington in a couple of weeks with Alan, Chrissie & Robbie.

Also, I made in through the night at the Bed and ...

We leftAlexandria and drove to Lancaster, OldestTown in the USA. We stayed in Lancaster. not the best hotel I ever stayed in, but not the worst! bed was hard but clean etc. Another glorious day. Being Sunday of course, nothing was open. We went to an Amish Village (farm) where we could ask loads of questions. Saw many Amish driving along in their buggies. Was funny to see parking bays outside a bank that were horse stalls with signs that say "customer parking ...

... Wells Hotel in Wellsboro. The hotel has recently been renovated and looks great. The dining room is large and formal with outstanding service and food.

The next stop was dissapointing. We always enjoyed the Call of the North Gift Shop in Gaines, PA. However, it is now closed and looks like it has not been open for some time. So we turned south at Galeton on Route 44 and along the way we found the Black Forest gift ...
