Today we drove to Varese, which is in the North of Italy. The main reason for our visit was to spend time with my Mums relatives. Most we haven't seen for many many years and we are meeting some for the first time. As soon as we arrived they welcomed us with open arms, and made us feel really comfortable. One of my cousins Tiziana has 2 …

I can say huge with some satisfaction since there were binoculars set into the marbled floor at several intervals so that you could better look down the corridors of wealth and power. Overall to sum up the first part of ATW80, you have to be “GLOCAL”. Depending on which market you operate, you need to understand the people, the culture, and deliver processes and solutions to cater that specific market.

... a whole raft of recommendations regarding local sights, routes and food, not just for this area but also for our next few stopovers.

Tomorrow we head south for our next stop, Turin, a city we are told is that is "Shroud-ed" in history. This will be a relatively short journey [about 90 minutes] so we will probably make a few stops on the way. Stu has spotted a few outlet places but Trish has other ideas. We’ll sleep on that ...
