... hill but we went on to the village, this pretty little village has many attractions. There is a yarn market, the castle, a dovecote and a tithe barn which is now the village community centre. We spent some time exploring this village and walked down to the Galoxy bridge which turned out to be a lovely curved packhorse bridge. We called in to the local church ...

We headed down the steep path, got our tickets and headed up the steep and slippery stairs to the castle where we saw very little though the fog. I was so glad to have my Arab scarf which I wrapped round my head. The wind was blowing in one ear and almost out the other ! We reached the car after a long tramp uphill on the road, glad to get out of the wind. Our cup of tea that Sue had waiting was never more welcome ...

... the 8.57 train to Exeter from Paddington, so , after breakfast with Debbie , I ordered a taxi to get to Paddington as I could not face the struggle with the heavy case using the antique station with no lifts or escalators-- they are building a brand-new station as part of Crossrail. Construction of Crossrail is going ahead with little disruption to traffic and business in London. Cranes are everywhere with work going on round the clock. Robin and Sue met me ...
