... The Old City, now a touristy area, host many tiny shops with various trinkets. Amongst those shops however, there were also a large number of artisan shops, oil paintings, hand crafted textiles and fans. It was a beautiful night and the lights, smells and wonderful artisans. I obviously checked out the food stalls as well. Yummy foods and a surprisingly shocking amount of seafood, and even frogs!

... after Qingdao was hard. Instead of being grateful for my amazing vacation, I felt resentful towards the city I live in for being so much dirtier, more backwards, and less interesting. ... Also, there is no toilet paper. At all. So, squat pot, flimsy plastic cup/tablespoon, no toilet paper. Then, the sample has to be carried from the bathroom into the clinical room, in front of many people, where they dip something into it, and have you carry it back to the bathroom to dispose of. Not my favorite thing in the world. Then on to the blood draw, where I wait in line behind ten or so people, watching the nurse draw each persons ...

... She can go back by herself if she wants to as she is a nightmare to go shopping with. There is an absolutely huge market elsewhere in the city and I haven't broached the subject of visiting there as the toilets are disgusting and I don't really want to go there. I will see how the time goes as we have been busy fitting things around my work.
