The next day we went our separate ways. Madelleine and Laura wanted to get closer to Beijing, so they went to Baoding, a bland city (I think) because I had no information about it. So, I went to Yujiacun, a small village entirely constructed of stones, for real. There was even a wonky one built by a guy that wanted to see Beijing from there. Today, Beijing is two hours away by express train. ...

We walked to another pagoda which was closed and then a monastery, where I again tried to ask buddha for help, but I didn't have a clear question this time, so it didn't work. ... spans the two sides.

To get to the bridge, and the path that hugs the wall on one side of the cliff walls, one must walk up a dizzying number of steps painstakingly build between the cut. I regret not having the presence of mind to count the steps, but I would guess at about 800 or so. It is a long climb up with many breaks to turn back and peer down into the thickly forested valley floor. These observational breaks ...

More Song Writers and Little Red Riding Hood

A travel blog entry by echristian778 on Apr 20, 2014

This week the 5th grade wrote their own songs. And yet again, I had some interesting ones done by the students. Such as:

*There's an eye on an ant on a fly on a cat on a tiger on a bear on an elephant on a whale in a house in the ship of the sea.

*There's a fly on a book on a bag on a table on a child on a chair on the floor in the home ...
