Ordered transfers to the port the next day from the concierge. A GL8 for the Hacketts and Taxi for us as we did not want to be hassled again tomorrow, and then hit the sack after another 18 hour day for what was supposed to be a 2 hour flight, 1 hour taxi ride, 30 minute bullet train and 10 minute taxi to our hotel.

I wish had pictures but I was too busy snorting my beer in laughter. It soon became time to abandon this fun and hit the gym for a run. ... As we drive along, a low row of "greenhouses" appears, their north wall made of dirt covered with straw to block the cold wind and the south wall covered in translucent plastic. The sandy soil looks so poor here; I can't imagine what they could be growing. ... So standing tickets for the 12hr night journey it was!

It was a very painful train trip standing up all the way to Beijing. Especially as we ran out of games to play about halfway into it and exhausted 2 ipods worth of "Ipod charaides"! We finally arrived in Beijing, and finally found taxi's which agreed to take us to our hostel. The hostel turned out to be really good and we spent the first day sleeping and recovering.

We did all the touristy ...
