I'm writing this in my journal and John is snoring - bless him - he did (well I did actually) get yet another silly had - complete with a plait of hair this time!!! Early dinner and bed tonight - the Terra Cotta Warriors tomorrow!!

... and Chou Ping Writing of My Sorrow Heaven's already taken my wife, Now it's also taken my son. My two eyes are still not dry, My heart desires only death. Rain falls and soaks into the earth, A pearl sinks into the ocean's depths. Dive in the sea and you can seek the pearl, Dig in the earth and you can see the water. Only people return to the source below. For all of time. This we know. I hold my chest; to whom now can I turn? Emaciated, a ghost in ...
Xi'an, Shaanxi, China happysheep... went all the way to India, they discovered this religion and brought it back to the Chinese. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda today houses about 30 monks. Before transferring to the airport, we went to the Xi'an Provincial Museum. Everything there was at least 2,000 years old. We've decided that the Chinese invented everything---and well before anyone else. We also viewed the anient city wall, a fortress completely surrounding the ancient city, protecting its ...
Xi'an, Shaanxi, China sechina... in Xian. It is right on the outskirts of the city and just about off the map. Across from the tomb there is a huge surprise to be found. On the map it is a small green patch where the Hanyao Temple is found. What was once 'nothingness' has been transformed into 'the new China'. That being one thousand five hundred acres of beautiful park lands. Construction began in July ...
Xi'an, China eddakath... shopping here, feeling free and unpushed and non obligated, and the merchandises are very inexpensive. I would recommend this street to all foreign visitors to buy souvenirs home. We hurried back to our hotel to meet our host, Jiang and Sunny, and he took us to the Xi'an railway station. We were dropped off at the front of the station, while Jiang and Sunny took Al and Pat to do more shopping as Pat and Al ...
Xi'an, Shaanxi, China travelrookies... and made them look at the other peoples areas to show them that you really didnt have to chuck and spit out all your food onto the area we were all sharing. Also hard sleepers arent particularly comfy but nethertheless they are a bed and we felt more refreshed than sitting alll the way. After getting to the hostel which is very well located and very nice indeed - yet again no kitchen for us to use although as always it said there ...
Xi'an, China josephinelong88... hear a Chinese person summon up with every inch of their being, every single bit of Plegm contained in their body and deposit it just inches away from your foot. Its not just the men either, and it isnt a pastime exclusive to smokers as far as i can gather. Even on the bus, men splatter their throat juice into the middle of the aisle. In shopping centres, the women will gob right into the entrance of a shop, whether it be prada or poundland (the chinese equivalent of ...
Xi'an, China rumpy1984... each one shaped vaguely like what was in it, ie the duck shaped one contained duck, the pig shaped one contained pork, the fish shaped one... Afterwards we had a performance of traditional music and dance. The women dance with sleeves that are very long. Next morning we rode around the walls of the city which took 1.5 hours. It was a bit rough at times but good. The museum is highly reccommended so we ...
Xi'an, China ozitag... Pagoda. Too late. The gates close at 6:30pm and it was nearing 7pm. Now that was a real bugger for us! We ended up walking around the square taking photos for awhile and then walked back down to Chang'an Lu.
In Xi'an most of the buses stop around 7:30pm and the new bus numbers come into action. So we had to catch bus No: 32 back into Xi'an. We got ...
