... great views appeared and really interesting rock formations to walk through. At the very top is a viewing platform which gave 360 views and was just incredible. It had been worth it! We stayed a while and then started back down a different track with very wobbly legs! Towards the end of the track we passed Daishoin Temple and it looked so beautiful we had to go into the complex. It meant walking up a lot more steps but we struggled on and were rewarded by beautiful buildings ...

... my best to power through.

I reached the top around 12.30pm completely covered in sweat which was not ideal given I would not get a chance to shower until we arrived at our hostel in Fukuoka later in the day. I would have to be that smelly guy on the train! Focusing on the positives, the view from the top was breath taking. With only a few clouds lingering, I could clearly see a number of islands in the distance surrounded by placid Blue Ocean in every ...

... taking. Its bright red colour trimmed with gold made it pop out because the sky was so cloudy. We started to hike up the mountain but got distracted by a beautiful little waterfall nestled away in the forest. Everyone took their turn climbing down the rocks to get there picture dangling their feet over the waterfall. We soon realized that high tide was coming in so we started the hike back down the mountain. It ...
