... plans for tomorrow sorted, we headed out for dinner.

We did our usual walk around for ages with no one being decisive enough to pick somewhere to eat so I made the executive call and we entered a Kaiseki restaurant. We have found that most places in Japan have English menus to help us feeble Gaijin (foreigner), however this place was to be one of the first exceptions. ... the third best view in all of Japan. The trip was awesome, suspended high above the canopy of the trees...just don't look down! Julie and I had a mini moment of panic, but overcame that quickly looking at the spectacular view ahead of us. Once on the top of the mountain, we climbed to the highest rock for fabulous photo opportunities and soak up the view of the islands in the Inland Sea. Some clouds prevented us from a perfect view, but nevertheless beautiful. ...

... lush - the island is made up of some flat land where it is just big enough to host a small population - one or two schools, some shops, fire dept etc. and some mountains covered in virgin forest i.e it has never been touched by us destructive humans! On entry to the island was another one of those orange archways which apparently are just gateways (torii gate not orange archway!!). ... back I took the rope(way) basically for the fun of it. And to strengthen my faith in ropes, although the sheer thought of stopping and being stuck crept me out.
