... for my lunch as a way to 'welcome me to the city'. He was only on a business trip there himself! Still was very unexpected and as much as I felt very guilty, it was a lovely gesture! So my accommodation tonight was supposed to me a nice soft chair in Chengdu airport (6:30am flight!!) however I was having so much fun talking to people at the hostel that I didn't even try to make the bus. We began our travel day with a 2.5 hour flight to Chengdu followed by a 2 hour bus ride to Leshan and finally after a 40 min. bus ride we arrived at Emei. THEN came the hard part, finding the hotel. When we had booked this place, creepily named the Teddy Bear Hotel it said it was within walking distance of the bus station. ... about the toilet smokers, the hostess exacted revenge by max'ing the volume on the Chinese Pop Idols show playing on the bus TV. Even with our iPods on full, there was no escaping the midget who sings Chinese pop songs, then does a mime act, followed by stand-up comedy, sings My Har Wool Go Arn from Titanic, and finishes his act by downing 2 draft beers in record time.
